1966 Batman was the first and only live-action Batman television series. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward as the crime-fighting duo, Batman and Robin, who defend Gotham City. The show lasted 3 seasons and 120 episodes. There was also a live-action film featuring much of the same cast. This was one of the first adaptations of the DC Comics characters away from the comic book series. Ever since, The Dark Knight has been adapted in many different formats since 1966. This version was known for its “camp style”, its upbeat theme music and relatively simplistic youth-aimed moral lessons, which include the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables and drinking milk among children. Pay tribute to this classic television series by adding the 1966 Batman Vinyl Idolz to your collection.

This Vinyl Idol features Batman, who was portrayed by Adam West in the show. Adam West was cast in the role after the producers seeing him perform as the James Bond-like spy, Captain Q in a Nestle Quik television add. West was also the only candidate who could deliver the lines in his audition with a straight face.
